Cable Technician / Facility Maintenance

Pineland is seeking a highly qualified individual to serve as a member of the Outside Plant Team. This position offers an entry to mid-point hourly pay range of $19-$26, and includes a competitive benefits package of health, life, and long-term disability insurance, pension, matching 401k, and subscriber services. This position is full-time, with some overtime available, primarily stationed out of the Metter office. The individual selected to join this team will have a primary role of installing, maintaining, and repairing fiber optic cable, and maintaining the central office cable system. S/he will provide hands-on assistance and troubleshoot all equipment failures and service issues, assist with locate requests, and conduct routine maintenance of buildings and facilities, including custodial care of plant and offices. The individual will be in contact with customers on a daily basis. Qualifications Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent plus one to three years of technical training. Must have a valid DOT health card. Must demonstrate the ability to learn new technology with accuracy and at a fast pace. Knowledge of broadband, voice, and video technologies preferred, including work in plant. Must be proficient in the use of hand tools, including various punch tools, test equipment, ribbon and/or single splicers, and power tools. Must have proven ability to complete projects/assignments on time and without constant supervision. How to apply An application is available online at www.pineland.net.
