JOB DESCRIPTION

The Housing Authority of the City of Cochran is seeking a highly motivated, qualified Administrative Assistant. Candidates must possess excellent communication and advanced computer skills, be able to type, read/write well, comprehend and interpret federal regulations and have an analytical mindset with problem solving abilities. Responsibilities will include: provide customer service, answer phone, process housing applications, move-in/leasing interviews, perform Interim and Annual Re-certifications to determine program continuance, maintain client files according to HUD regulations, collection of rent and delinquent debt, and perform other general office/secretarial duties as needed. Candidates must have a good understanding of basic math and accounting principles, possess a minimum high school diploma/GED, no criminal history, be bondable, have a valid driver’s license and dependable transportation. This is a full-time position working a standard 40-hour work week. Salary will depend upon experience. We offer a generous benefit package which includes, health/dental/life insurance, employer sponsored retirement plan, sick/annual PTO and paid federal holidays. Office hours are Monday – Friday, 8:00 am until 5:00 pm. Some travel will be required for this position.
