JOB DESCRIPTION

Chief of Police The City of Brooklet, GA, current population, 2,000+, is experiencing rapid community growth with a projected population of 3,000+ by 2028. The current chief of police is retiring. The City is seeking an experienced chief of police, who must possess a proven record in implementing forward thinking ideas, be proactive, and committed to professional development and community engagement. Duties are estimated to be 60% patrol/police work, 40% administration/community outreach. Applicant must have experience in working for a municipality under 4,000 population and a police department with less than 10 members. This position serves under the general direction of the City Manager. Qualifications: Minimum of 5 -10 years of progressive law enforcement experience, with at least 5 years experience in a leadership position. Proven track record in law enforcement leadership and management. Excellent communication skills. P.O.S.T certification Knowledge of budgeting, resource management and planning. Commitment to ethical conduct, transparency, and accountability. Bachelor's degree in criminal justice from an accredited college/university is preferred.
